What belongs here
Your own surf photos, honest reviews and useful trip knowledge. Keep it about surfing and surf travel.
Protect the spots
Do not post exact locations, coordinates, maps or directions to breaks that locals keep quiet. You can only tag published destinations and well-known breaks. If locals ask us to take something down because it exposes a sensitive spot, we will usually do it.
Reviews must be real
Only review what you experienced yourself. No reviews of your own business, your employer, a competitor or friends and family, and none in exchange for payment, discounts or a free stay. Reviews are marked as unverified unless we hold evidence of a booking. We remove fake reviews.
Your content stays yours
You keep ownership and copyright. You give Book & Surf a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, resize and show your content on Book & Surf and in its promotion of that page, until you delete it. You must own the rights or have permission, and anyone recognisable must have agreed to appear. Never post a child's image without a parent's or guardian's consent.
Safety
Don't post content that encourages dangerous behaviour or going out in conditions beyond your ability. We don't run challenges based on size, risk or hazardous surf.
How moderation works
A moderator checks photos and reviews before they appear. If we reject or remove something, your account page shows it and we keep a record of the reason. Use the Report link on any post, or email us if you don't have an account. You can ask us to look at a decision again by email.
Your data
You can download or delete your data at any time from your account page. We strip location data from photos on your device before upload. See our privacy page for more.
Ending accounts
We may remove content or close accounts that break these rules, repeatedly or seriously. Illegal content may be reported to the authorities.
