Where to surf in June.

June is prime time in the Indian Ocean and on the Pacific coast of Mexico and Central America. Northern Atlantic coasts get small and friendly, which suits beginners. Southern-hemisphere coasts head into winter with colder water and bigger surf.

41 of our 108 destinations list June in their suggested season; 26 of those usually have water at 25°C or warmer.

Rankings combine ERA5 open-ocean data (2015–2024) with our suggested seasons. They describe typical months, not this year's surf, and sheltered spots can be much smaller than the figures here. How this works.
